Our clothing budget is very small because of the generosity of friends and family. People are always gifting us with their no-longer needed clothing. Often, however, those clothes are not the right size, or season, or are from a now faded fashion craze.
No need to worry. Environmentally-conscious super sewing mama will wield her magic colourful thread and re-form those unwanted items into something that will save the day.
Problem – Not enough winter pants for the Littlest One.
Solution – Re-form a pair of summer denim Capri pants.

I added an extended hem in bright pink with little white polka dots (from my stash). This matched some embroidered flowers on the back pocket.

No the Littlest One has some lovely “new” pants for the winter season.

I wanted to take a local stress reduction mediation course at our provincial health department, but it’s been overbooked for two sessions now. I found this one online and am really enjoying it. The instructor is very calming and there is a transcript to accompany it which means my wandering mind and weak auditory skills have no excuse for not getting it.
I did my first mediation by myself and made it through the whole twenty minutes. I glanced at the timer at seven minutes, thirteen minutes and not again until the bell went off. So I guess I have about a seven minute attention span.
My mind really flicked about and I kept “coming to” and remembering that I was supposed to be concentrating on what my breath was doing. I wandered to the pets and how much those rats make me sneeze. I spent a fair bit of time mulling that problem and then moving on and then finding myself back to it again. I wandered to the sewing room and its disorganization. I wandered to our very relaxed schooling (or lack of) this week. I wandered to my pelvic exercises and whether I’m actually enjoying karate.
My brain is awhirl with stuff. I’m hoping it will get better and easier as I practice.
